Lincoln Property Company Southeast Announces USGBC Project Of The Year Award For 55 Allen Plaza

Lincoln Property Company Southeast announced today that 55 Allen Plaza has been awarded the Project of the Year for the Chrysalis Community Leadership Awards held by the Georgia Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. 55 Allen Plaza was one of five projects selected as finalists for the award out of 140 submissions, which included Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Anthem Technology Center.

The Chrysalis Awards were created by USGBC Georgia to recognize projects that are excelling in innovation and diversity within the green building industry. It acknowledges both projects and leaders that are pushing the conversation around sustainability and continuing to educate the community about the practice. According to USGBC, the winners of the Chrysalis Awards represent the top of the sustainability movement towards green, healthy and resilient buildings.

Lincoln handles leasing and management for 55 Allen Plaza on behalf of the owner, an affiliate of Lone Star Funds. The office building won the Project of the Year Award for implementing practical and measurable strategies in areas including sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality. The property has excelled in energy performance through the use of efficient lighting and HVAC systems; the implementation of low-plumbing fixtures for improved water performance; a detailed waste-stream audit to identify recycling efforts for reducing waste at the building; high-efficiency air filtration to create superior indoor air quality; and additional operating programs put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic to optimize occupant health.

55 Allen Plaza is a 342,643-square-foot office building located in Downtown Atlanta. The 14-story building features floor-to-ceiling glass windows, enclosed parking, high-level building security, available café and sundry shop space, a state-of-the-art conference center and The Green Room, an ultramodern tenant lounge perfect for hosting events or informal meetings. The building was designed by world-renowned architect Pickard Chilton with ultimate efficiency in mind, boasting exposed ceilings and concrete floors throughout. 55 Allen Plaza is also centrally located, with convenient access to both Midtown and Downtown Atlanta, proximity to several MARTA stations, as well as access both on and off I-75/I-85 via Williams Street.
