JW Marriott Marquis Miami Named Official Hotel Sponsor of “Recent Cinema from Spain” One of the oldest Film Exhibitions in the US

The film exhibition will be held at Silverspot Theater from November 12 to 18th,  right across the street from the hotel

The JW Marriott Marquis Miami has been named the Official Hotel Sponsor of Recent Cinema from Spain, which will take place at the Silverspot Theater at MDM Development’s Met Square in Downtown Miami from November 15 to 18, 2023.

In collaboration with EGEDA U.S. and the Spanish Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), Recent Cinema from Spain commemorates its 12th edition by showcasing the finest selection of contemporary Spanish films. Building on the success of previous editions, this year’s series promises to be a cinematic feast, featuring a selection that showcases the country’s rich storytelling and filmmaking talent.

The series kicks off with the U.S. premiere of the film nominated for Best Film at the Malaga International Film Festival, “Not Such an Easy Life (Una Vida No Tan Simple),” directed by Félix Viscarret. The film stars Miki Esparbé, Álex García, Ana Polvorosa, and Olaya Caldera and follows the journey of Isaías, a former promising architect struggling with personal and professional failures.

Actors Álex García, Óscar Casas, Paco León, and actress Marta González Vega will be present to introduce their films, fostering a deeper connection between Spanish cinema and its dedicated audience in Miami.

“Supporting the arts is a core value inherent in all our properties. The Recent Cinema from Spain is yet another enriching example of our city’s profound cultural diversity” said Florencia Tabeni, Vice President of Operations & Development MDM Hotel Group.
