HFHGP Volunteer Kickoff Event: Uniting for a Common Cause at Brewery 44 in Carver

Habitat for Humanity Greater Plymouth (HFHGP) is thrilled to announce its upcoming Volunteer Kickoff event, scheduled for Wednesday, October 25th, at Brewery 44 in Carver, from 5 – 7 PM.  This event promises to be an enjoyable and social gathering aimed at igniting the spirit of community and camaraderie among volunteers, fostering connections, and fueling the anticipation for Habitat’s current and upcoming build projects.

Attendees can look forward to an exciting presentation about the many ways that volunteers can put their hands and hearts to work to support families in need of affordable housing in the Greater Plymouth area. HFHGP has just started a new home build project in Manomet, which will result in a modest 3-bedroom home in a quiet residential neighborhood.  No trade experience is necessary to be part of a Habitat construction crew. A licensed construction supervisor trains and oversees the work, and community members from all backgrounds are welcome.  Volunteers can sign up for a single shift or join for multiple work days to suit their interest and schedule. HFHGP also seeks volunteers to provide crew lunches on Saturdays, and has opportunities to help in the office and on various committees.

HFHGP invites everyone to attend the Volunteer Kickoff event and be a part of this exciting moment for the organization. With the new construction project now underway in Manomet, volunteer support is crucial to completing another home build for a local family in need. The event is free and light refreshments will be served. Also at the Kick-Off, staff will share details about the launch of HFHGP’s new digital Volunteer Management tool, Bloomerang. This state-of-the-art tool is designed to streamline the volunteer sign-up process, enhance communication channels, and simplify volunteer management.

“Volunteers make up the very foundation of Habitat, and we wouldn’t be able to provide these transformative opportunities for low-income families without the compassion of so many community members who give their time and energy to make a homeownership dream come true,” said Amy Belmore, Executive Director at HFHGP.  “The experience of volunteering is rewarding, fun and makes a tangible impact on the lives of those we serve.”

The organization also plans to disseminate information and updates about volunteer opportunities and Bloomerang via email, its official website, and various social media channels. Interested community members who are not able to attend the Kick-Off on October 25th should visit www.hfhplymouth.org/how-to-help/volunteer/ to learn more,  or they can get in touch with Lynn at lmcmanus@hfhplymouth.org.
