Loyola Names Jon Weinstein Entrepreneur in Residence

Loyola University Maryland named Jon Weinstein entrepreneur in residence at the Simon Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and assistant teaching professor at the Sellinger School of Business and Management. Weinstein brings over 30 years of experience in entrepreneurship, executive leadership, mentorship, and organizational change.

Weinstein founded and sold Line of Sight, a business consulting firm with clients including business startups, government organizations, and Fortune 500 companies. He served as a director at the Maryland Department of Health, helping to lead the state through the COVID-19 pandemic, and represented Ellicott City during a four-year term on the Howard County Council. He also founded, Propositum in 2022 to provide strategic advisory, consulting, and coaching services to organizations.

“Jon has a track record of exceptional leadership in diverse fields that attests to the universality of the entrepreneurial mindset. We are pleased to welcome his contributions to our work with students in the innovation and entrepreneurship minor and with Baltimore entrepreneurs in the Baltipreneurs Accelerator,” said Wendy Bolger, founding director of the Simon Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

Among his accomplishments, Weinstein has written two books and articles on topics including project management, leadership, strategic planning, and organizational change. He serves as commissioner and vice chair of the Baltimore City Fair Elections Fund Commission, and earlier in his career, was an officer in the Army Reserve. For the past two years, Weinstein has volunteered with Baltimore Innovation Works, mentoring social entrepreneurs building businesses in the city.

Weinstein graduated from American University with a master’s degree in international affairs and Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in international relations. He lives in Baltimore.
