Community Foundation Of Howard County’s Annual Dinner Celebrates Giving

The Community Foundation of Howard County, which raises, manages and distributes funds to support Howard County nonprofits, will hold the Annual Dinner and Celebration of Philanthropy on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City.

The Community Foundation will highlight accomplishments, showcase nonprofit organizations and recognize and thank individuals, families and businesses in Howard County for their generosity and leadership. This year, the foundation will present the Philanthropist of the Year awards to Carlessia Hussein and The Howard Hughes Corp.

“Once again, the nonprofit community will gather in person for a joyous evening of food, fellowship and philanthropy,” said Beverly White-Seals, president and CEO of the foundation. “We’re grateful to our generous donors, sponsors and nonprofits and can’t wait to honor them at the Annual Dinner. The Community Foundation of Howard County serves as a knowledgeable, trusted partner that forges connections between donors and nonprofit organizations to provide impactful investments in Howard County. In 2022, the foundation awarded $1.75 million across 480 grants to organizations delivering human service, arts and cultural, educational and civic programs. Funds to support grant programs come primarily from income generated by the foundation’s endowment supported by nearly 400 funds established by Howard County businesses, families and individuals.
