Helene Horn Figman Of Workplace Awareness Training Serves On Panel Of Sold-Out MetroWest Conference For Women

Helene Horn Figman, J.D., owner and president of Workplace Awareness Training, which specializes in presenting programs, including anti-harassment, anti-discrimination and bias, that educate employees about workplace conduct as well as their employer’s policies and expectations, recently served as a panelist for the sold-out 7th Annual MetroWest Conference for Women, which was held on September 21 at the Sheraton Framingham in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Figman, along with fellow panelists Lisa Lopes, SVP and regional branch manager for Middlesex Savings Bank, and Nancy Settle-Murphy, president of Guided Insights, discussed the topic, “Navigating Workplace Challenges:  Present and Future.”  Moderated by Ashley Newhall, chair of the MetroWest Conference for Women Board of Directors, the panel highlighted how employees and employers can successfully navigate the issues facing employers and employees today and strategize best practices to be prepared for what lies ahead.  Topics addressed included remote working, accommodations requests, ageism, and unconscious bias.

Figman brought to the panel a unique perspective, given her previous experiences representing employers, representing employees, and serving as an impartial hearings officer.

“I really appreciated the opportunity to hear questions and concerns from so many engaged individuals on such important matters, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with my fellow panelists and share our different yet complementary points of view,” said Figman.  “Thank you to MetroWest Conference for Women for pulling together an energizing and informative day.”

The mission of the MetroWest Conference for Women is to provide an affordable, relevant and relatable opportunity to share ideas, collaborate and network.  Since 2016, the MetroWest Conference for Women volunteers have created an annual sold-out event averaging 300+ guests and bringing together speakers, vendors, entertainers, sponsors, attendees, business owners and community leaders to support and learn from one another.  For more information, please visit MetroWest Conference for Women | She’s Local (sheslocal.org).
