Christian City Hosted Second Annual Terry Chapman Day Of Service

Christian City, a local nonprofit that serves and uplifts vulnerable children, adults and seniors, hosted its second annual Terry Chapman Day of Service to honor a prolific, longtime volunteer who helped renovate 50 facilities on-campus and recently passed away in 2021.

Members of the community participated in several projects, helping to improve the campus and honor Terry Chapman and his work with Christian City. The group of volunteers included members of Georgia Power, Chick-fil-A and Delta Airlines, who engaged in a variety of on-campus beautification projects such as pressure washing, installing plants, painting and readying a new dog park for residents and their furry friends.

“Terry loved Christian City and he was faithful –we are so grateful for the life-changing impact he had on our campus,” said Keith Horton, CEO of Christian City. “We could not think of a better way to remember Terry than to invite others to serve at this place he loved so much.”

About Christian City, Inc.

Christian City is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides vibrant living, life-changing hope, and a community of loving friends for vulnerable children and youth and affordable living for seniors.  It was established in 1965 when the first cottage for homeless children opened in south metro Atlanta on 50-acres of donated land. Active senior living homes were soon added, followed by skilled nursing and rehab and assisted living  PruittHealth operates the assisted living and skilled nursing centers on campus and  National Church Residences operates four HUD-supported apartment buildings. Our programs for children and families have expanded to include five distinct areas: residential group homes for children, foster and adoption services, runaway and homeless youth services, support and homes for youth who have aged out of foster care, and supportive independent living for neuro-diverse adults. Today, more than 1,000 residents, children, youth, and senior adults, live on our 500-acre campus. Through each of its programs, Christian City seeks to extend Christ’s call to love your neighbor.
