Meyer, Capitol Seniors Housing, The Arbor Company and IMC Construction celebrate the completion of the new 76,500 square foot assisted living community
Meyer, an award-winning architecture and interior design firm based in Philadelphia, celebrated the grand opening of Arbor Terrace Marlton, a brand-new assisted senior living community in Evesham Township, New Jersey, alongside project partners Capitol Seniors Housing, The Arbor Company and IMC Construction.
Owned and developed by Capitol Seniors Housing, the three-story, 76,500 square foot community includes 60 assisted living apartments, 27 memory care units and 15,000 square feet of amenity space, with a focus on wellness and elegant, luxury living for seniors who desire an independent lifestyle. Residents will also enjoy a theater, bistro, salon, lounges, shared and private dining rooms, as well as an outdoor garden and terrace with views overlooking a pond.
“Arbor Terrace Marlton offers state-of-the-art services and amenities for Marlton’s senior community to feel engaged and connected,” said Dan King, AIA, Principal at Meyer. “We designed a place where seniors can thrive while also receiving the attention and care they deserve.”
Meyer provided comprehensive architecture and interior design services as well as furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E) procurement for the project, which broke ground in April 2021. The community is operated by The Arbor Company, a leader in luxury senior living. IMC Construction, the largest independent national commercial general contractor in Philadelphia, acted as construction manager on the project.
“We worked closely with Capitol Seniors Housing, The Arbor Company and IMC to create vibrant layouts and interior environments that reflect the level of quality programming and entertainment available to residents of Arbor Terrace Marlton,” said Shannon Remaley, Principal at Meyer.
The community’s exterior draws inspiration from the traditional colonial architecture style found across South Jersey, using stone, horizontal siding, and ornamental detailing to provide a grand sense of place for residents. Large, forward-facing gables, elegantly trimmed corner pilasters, roof dormers, and chimneys also add to the classic style of the main building façade. The community’s interior color palette is inspired by marl clay, a type of clay commonly found in the local Marlton area soil.
“We are thrilled to partner with Meyer, IMC Construction and Capitol Seniors Housing in opening the doors to Arbor Terrace Marlton,” said Judd Harper, President, The Arbor Company. “This beautiful new community will help meet the needs of the state’s growing senior population and provide them with best-in-class living and care options.”
“Due to its location on a wetlands preserve, Arbor Terrace Marlton required extensive pre-construction planning and communication with our partners at Meyer, The Arbor Company and Capitol Seniors Housing,” said Michael Lloyd, President at IMC Construction. “Despite the challenge, our teams were able to deliver a high-quality, luxury senior living community for the Marlton community on time and within budget.”
The Meyer team also included Principal Shannon Remaley, Project Manager Paul Butala, Project Manager Min Yi Park, FF+E Manager Michele Segre and Senior Architect Wayne Egolf. Other project team members included MEP engineer Concord Engineering, structural engineer Bala Consulting Engineers, and landscape architect Longstone Gardens.
“We are excited to provide seniors in New Jersey with a state-of-the-art assisted living community where the residents and their family members can feel comfortable and connected,” Joseph McElwee, Principal – Development at Capitol Seniors Housing. “Each of our partners, including Meyer, The Arbor Company and IMC Construction, helped us to bring this incredible community to life.”
A nationally recognized leader in senior living projects, Meyer has provided architecture and design services for additional Arbor Company complexes in Exton, PA, Mount Laurel, NJ, Morris Plains, NJ, and Mountainside, NJ. Meyer’s senior living portfolio also includes senior living communities in Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
