Raines Feldman Appoints Andrew G. Tavel as Head of Entertainment & Media Group

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Raines Feldman LLP announces the arrival of Entertainment & Media Partner Andrew G. Tavel to head the firm’s Entertainment & Media Group in New York. For more than 30 years, Andy has been an ardent legal advocate for creators of intellectual property and entertainment entrepreneurs predominantly in the music industry. His client base has spanned the spectrum from emerging talent to iconic music superstars, and from established companies to rising start-ups.

Andy’s arrival comes on the heels of two major onboardings for the firm including the addition of highly regarded Entertainment & Media partners Rami Yanni and Bill Hochberg in Los Angeles, and a recent combination with the well-known Chicago firm Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Helsinger LLP which added tax, wealth preservation and other key practice areas to expand the firm’s national capabilities.

“Raines Feldman’s national growth provides an exciting opportunity to simultaneously grow the firm’s Entertainment & Media Group as well as to expand the scope of services for clients across traditional and emerging forms of interactive media and content distribution,” said Andy. “I’m looking forward to applying the knowledge and skills that I’ve honed over the past three decades to help create new opportunities for Raines Feldman’s entertainment client base and to introduce new clients to this progressive firm.”

Named one of Billboard’s and Variety’s Top Music Lawyers, Andy is an innovator well-versed in the continuing evolution of the music industry and the opportunities that evolution offers to content creators, producers and distributors. His background working with some of the most influential and iconic musicians and entertainers in the world as well as key players in the music business has made him a sought-after advisor and partner to his clients.

“Andy is an innovative thought leader with substantial industry experience and relationships that will further strengthen our capabilities in these growing areas,” said Jonathan Littrell, Raines Feldman’s managing partner. “I have known Andy for about 25 years and am thrilled to have him join us and integrate his deeply rooted and trusted practice into our wider nationwide network as well as help us to grow this burgeoning practice area in the firm,” added Simon Miller, the firm’s managing partner in New York.

With offices in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Orange County, Raines Feldman has been strategically expanding its roster of talented lawyers across its practices nationwide including the addition of congressional candidate and former U.S. prosecutor Will Rollins to its litigation team in Los Angeles and significant partner and associate hires in New York and Chicago.
