62ABOVE Creates ‘Monterey Pro V Pro’

Independent creative marketing agency 62ABOVE is assisting long-time client Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau (MCCVB) as the destination prepares to host the U.S. Women’s Open in July of 2023, according to agency Founder and Chief Relationships Officer, Jon Bailey.

For the first time in history, the U.S. Women’s Open Championship will be played at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Monterey County, Calif. on July 5-9, 2023.

Working with President & CEO of Monterey County CVB Rob O’Keefe to support this momentous occasion, 62ABOVE created a content series featuring women who are at the top of their game. The agency paired professional golfers with women who are experts in other fields. The “Monterey Pro V Pro” content series highlights the dedication and skill it takes to rise to the level of a top professional in any field and celebrates the women who have made the commitment to turn their passions into careers.

MCCVB staffers Lindsey Stevens, Vice President of Marketing, and Leslie Chavez, Marketing Manager, were instrumental in creating this program along with 62ABOVE.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved in this series, including the U.S. Golf Association for connecting us with amazing female golf pros, our local golf courses that provided extraordinary filming locations, and our Monterey County female professionals,” says O’Keefe. “With Pebble Beach hosting a number of U.S. Women’s Opens over the next couple of decades, we saw a great opportunity to celebrate our amazing women leaders who make such an impact in our destination.”

The first episode features Andrea Lee, (#32 ranked golfer in the world), and Reba Wilson, owner of Sweet Reba’s Bakery & Kitchen in Carmel-by-the-Sea.  Andrea and Reba have fun in the bakery’s kitchen and on the course at Carmel Valley Ranch as they swap stories, tips, and their favorite places in the Monterey County area. The series will continue during the lead-up to the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open in early July.

62ABOVE VP of Account Services Amy Gelender comments, “The 2023 USWO is a big deal for our partners at Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Pebble Beach Golf Links—and it’s something we’re incredibly excited about as well. Pro V Pro builds on that energy to expand the story. It gives us a platform to highlight women around Monterey County who are at the top of their game, in a variety of industries. It also reminds people that Monterey County is a world-class golf destination.”

The Monterey Pro V Pro series will be seen on social media channels including Instagram and Facebook at @seemonterey.
