ORLANDO, FL – Blair Hedges has joined Carlton Fields’ Real Property Litigation practice as a shareholder in the firm’s Orlando office.
Hedges has over 20 years’ experience litigating complex commercial and real estate matters, securities class actions, shareholder derivation lawsuits, and actions brought by the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission. He also has extensive experience conducting internal investigations and external fraud-recovery investigations.
“Blair’s experience in-house and in private practice allows him to understand the complexities of litigation from multiple angles,” said Christopher Smart, chair of Carlton Fields’ Real Property Litigation practice. “His addition brings new depth and strength to our Real Property Litigation practice and he will be a valued resource to clients in a diverse range of industries.”
Prior to joining Carlton Fields, Hedges served for over a decade as Vice President, Senior Litigation Counsel at Fidelity National Financial, Inc., where he managed litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout the country. Hedges began his legal career as a commercial litigator in private practice representing clients including Fortune 500 companies, technology clients, and corporate executives in fraud investigations and securities class actions.
“I am excited for the opportunity to return to private practice with Carlton Fields, a firm highly regarded in Florida and throughout the country for its exceptional litigation practice,” said Hedges. “I am honored to join the firm’s outstanding litigation team to help clients overcome the increasingly complex challenges litigation can pose to the real estate industry.”
Hedges earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2000 and his B.A. from Rice University in 1997.
