The Arc Baltimore Will Hold Spring Hiring Fair On April 18

The Arc Baltimore will hold a Spring Hiring Fair at its Seton Center location in Northwest Baltimore (6151 Metro Drive in the Seton Business Park, Baltimore, MD, 21215) from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18.

Applicants can apply and interview on the spot for any open position. Applicants should bring their resume and driver’s license. Free street and lot parking is available.

“The Arc Baltimore is looking for passionate and compassionate people to join our staff and provide life-changing support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” says The Arc Baltimore’s Chief Executive Officer, Kathleen Durkin.

The Arc Baltimore currently has multiple open positions, ranging from direct support professionals supporting people with disabilities at home and at work to administrative positions, case managers, and program directors.

All direct support professional positions have a minimum hourly rate of $16.50. In addition, staffers at The Arc Baltimore receive a generous benefits package which includes paid vacation, health insurance (medical, prescription drug, vision, dental, and voluntary supplemental plans), life and disability insurance, a 403(b) thrift savings plan, career advancement opportunities, tuition assistance, and professional training.

New staffers at The Arc Baltimore go through an intensive two-week training program, which includes Mandt behavioral training, CPR and first aid, and for some positions, medication technician training. The Arc also offers career advancement opportunities, including the Direct Support Professional Apprenticeship Program, the Leadership Institute, and The Arc Maryland’s Leadership Program (monthly programs with leaders from every chapter of The Arc in Maryland).

“While the people The Arc Baltimore supports are more active in the community than ever before – living in Baltimore’s neighborhoods, going to work, paying their bills, and going out with friends – they still need the support our professionals provide,” Durkin explains. “If you’re an innovative leader who cares about helping others, your career path may be leading you to The Arc Baltimore.”
