AxleHire Raises $20M In Series B

AxleHire, a Emeryville, Calif.-based logistics innovation company for last-mile delivery, raised $20m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Ajax Strategies with additional participation from Eclipse Ventures, Quiet Logistics, Bee Partners, and Acorn Pacific Ventures. Ajax Strategies partner Milo Werner, Greenfield Partners founder Eugene Gorab, and Eclipse Ventures partner Matt Mulvey will all be joining AxleHire’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to enhance its capabilities to deliver a same-day and next-day experience through new sortation technology, an expanded network of locations, and additional talent.

Led by Adam Bryant, CEO, and Daniel Sokolovsky, founder, AxleHire combines technology and logistics to deliver same- and next-day delivery services to industry leaders such as HelloFresh, Deliverr, Freshly, Pet Food Express, and more. Powered by proprietary technology, the company leverages an asset-light transportation network to right-size capacity based on demand. AxleHire also utilizes algorithms to optimize real-time decisions around customer experience and positions sortation hubs near major metropolitan areas to minimize transit times.

The company has multiple locations in cities across the U.S. including Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Phoenix, Portland, and Seattle.
