Jintak Han Joins The Washington Post as Breaking News Photo Editor

We are thrilled to announce that Jintak Han has joined The Washington Post as a breaking news photo editor based in our Seoul hub.

In this new role, Jintak will lead the visual coverage in breaking news situations, as well as illustrate news and enterprise stories and help curate the photos on the homepage during the overnight hours in Washington. This position in Seoul allows the Photo Department to support the newsroom’s 24-hour cycle.

Before joining The Post, Jintak was a freelance photojournalist, working for agencies such as Zuma Press and the USA Today Network. He interned at the Denver Post and the Hankook Ilbo, a South Korean national daily. He is finishing a master’s degree in photography from Ohio University and holds a bachelor’s degree in linguistics from UCLA with a specialty in modern Japanese.
