Nelson Mullins Expands with Opening of Pittsburgh Office

PITTSBURGHNelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, a full-service national law firm, announced today the opening of its newest office located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a group of attorneys from Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP. The team consists of seven litigation attorneys and five corporate attorneys and includes 10 partners. The office will be located at PPG Place.

Christine Boronyak Bowers, partner, focuses her practice on advising businesses, nonprofits, and individuals on tax matters. Her work includes dealing with tax issues around establishing businesses, designing and implementing tax-qualified retirement plans, as well as tax matters in mergers and acquisitions. Bowers is recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for tax law.

Jonathan M. Fingeret, partner, has a broad range general corporate practice that includes experience in mergers and acquisitions, securities and regulatory matters, and complex negotiations. He also provides general counsel advise to a variety of companies. He was previously in-house as general counsel at an international industrial services and raw materials trading company.

Timothy D. Gallagher, partner, provides transactional advice to clients including mergers and acquisitions, and working with private equity, venture capital and real estate clients. He previously served as general counsel for a family office focused on diverse investments, including in the hospitality and real estate industries.

David J. Hirsch, partner, has a career that spans three-plus decades advising business in corporate matters such as mergers and acquisitions, securities and compliance, and complex contract issues. His clients include medium-sized businesses, private equity companies and venture capital firms. He routinely advises corporate boards on a variety of issues.

James P. Killeen, partner, focuses his practice on real estate matters, including transactions, development, leasing, and land use and zoning. A licensed title agent, Killeen serves as counsel to a variety of real estate and title companies. He has also handled real estate litigation matters.

Ronald L. Hicks, Jr., partner, has an expansive litigation practice that includes general commercial work, intellectual property and trade secrets, real estate litigation, trust and estates disputes and creditors rights issues. Hicks is recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® for Pittsburgh in the Commercial, Bankruptcy, Construction, Intellectual Property and Real Estate Litigation categories. He also has experience in election law issues.

Thomas S. Jones, partner, a veteran trial lawyer that brings 30 years of experience to the firm. His expansive litigation practice includes bet-the-company issues, investigations, shareholder and derivative matters, securities litigation, qui tam, arbitration, and appellate cases. Carolyn B. McGee, partner, is a commercial litigator with state, federal and appellate experience. Her practice encompasses general contract matters and litigation, warranty issues, and trade secrets in a variety of industries including real estate, energy, aviation and construction. She also has experience in election law matters.

Jeremy A. Mercer, partner, an experience litigator, his practice frequently involves oil and gas disputes. His experience in the shale sector includes representation of the E&P operators in the Marcellus and Utica Shale sites. He is a frequent speaker on fracturing and his representations include employment, zoning, regulatory, and environmental issues.

Kevin Meacham, partner, a litigator with experience in a variety of industries such as energy and utilities, telecommunications, manufacturing, and construction. He also has experience at the trial and appellate levels. His practice includes experience in contract disputes, investigations, class action defense, franchise disputes, and litigation resulting from mergers and acquisitions.

Megan E. Farrell, of counsel, a former assistant U.S. attorney who also has in-house experience at a Fortune 500 financial institution. She focuses her practice on representing financial institutions in commercial litigation matters.
