DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Island, the leader and pioneer in the Enterprise Browser market, today announced the addition of Keith Weatherford to its executive team as Vice President of Worldwide Channel Sales. Weatherford brings more than 20 years of experience developing and implementing channel partner strategies for leading security companies and will be tasked with building and scaling Island’s global channel presence.
Before joining Island, Weatherford was Vice President, Worldwide Channel Sales, for Forescout Technologies Inc. He also has held channel sales leadership positions at market-leading information security companies including Symantec, Blue Coat Systems and McAfee.
“Keith is a well-respected, seasoned channel leader with a stellar track record for driving billions of dollars in revenue through the channel,” said Mike Fey, Island CEO and Co-founder. “This past year, we have proven that we have product-market fit across every vertical and in every segment. There is tremendous appetite in the channel to bring Island’s game-changing innovation to customers, and a seasoned leader like Keith will accelerate our ability to create solid, mutually beneficial growth opportunities.”
“With its Enterprise Browser, Island is pioneering an entirely new category of enterprise software that affords CISOs and CIOs a simpler and more secure way to protect the enterprise while improving the user experience and reducing costs and complexity in the security stack,” said Weatherford. “The pace of market adoption by some of the world’s leading companies has been nothing less than remarkable, and I’m looking forward to working with channel partners who are energized by the opportunity to bring Island’s innovative, paradigm-shifting Enterprise Browser to their customers.”
“Successful channel partners are always hungry to bring breakthrough solutions to their customers,” said Katherine Walther, VP of Innovation, Trace3. “The Island Enterprise Browser is already winning accolades – and a growing roster of marquee customers – because it provides a unique and elegant solution to the complex challenge of securing the enterprise without compromising system performance or degrading the user experience. The time is right for Island to build out its channel partnerships and programs. As a channel chief at multiple organizations, Keith has proven time and again that he knows how to build channel relationships anchored in trust and mutual success.”
Weatherford’s appointment follows the recent addition of Richard Greene as Island’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships.
The Island Enterprise Browser
The Island Enterprise Browser is the desktop of the future, enabling organizations to protect users and data at the very point where they interact with SaaS and internal web applications. Using the Island Enterprise Browser, security teams fully control the last mile, from basic protections such as copy, paste, download, upload, and screenshot capture, to more advanced security demands such as data redaction, watermarking and multi-factor authentication insertion. This opens up unprecedented opportunities across a growing number of enterprise use cases, including securing critical SaaS and internal web applications from data leakage, safe access for contractors and BYOD workers, and full governance over privileged user accounts. It also delivers a native user experience for the hybrid worker in contrast to costly and poor-performing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), while supporting built-in safe browsing, web filtering, web isolation, exploit prevention, and Zero Trust network access at much lower cost.
Island is the developer of the Enterprise Browser – the ideal enterprise workplace, where work flows freely while remaining fundamentally secure. With the core needs of the enterprise naturally embedded in the browser itself, Island gives organizations complete control, visibility, and governance over the last mile, while delivering the same smooth Chromium-based browser experience users expect. Led by experienced leaders of the enterprise security and browser technology space and backed by leading venture funds – Insight Partners, Sequoia Capital, Cyberstarts, and Stripes – Island is redefining the future of work for some of the largest, most respected enterprises in the world.
