Three Troutman Pepper Attorneys to Participate in Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Programs

ATLANTA – Troutman Pepper Partner Victoria Alvarez has been selected for the 2023 Fellows Program of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), and associates Erica Dressler and William Belton have been named to LCLD’s 2023 Class of Pathfinders. LCLD seeks to create a more diverse and inclusive legal profession with more than 400 members, including corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners.

Alvarez, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Business Litigation Practice Group, will participate in the landmark Fellows program, which LCLD created to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.

An experienced trial attorney, Alvarez uses her courtroom experiences to counsel companies on limiting their liability and exposure. Appearing before state and federal courts, municipalities, public commissions, and international arbitral panels, she often represents real estate developers, manufacturers, retail operators, and utilities. Counseling businesses big and small — from multinational corporations to local partnerships – Alvarez is well equipped to manage even the most complex multifaceted cases.

Dressler and Belton will participate in LCLD’s Pathfinder Program, which trains high-performing, early-career attorneys in critical career development strategies, including leadership and the building of professional networks.

Dressler concentrates her practice on complex breach of contract litigation, securities litigation, corporate governance disputes, and antitrust litigation, including franchise disputes. She has taken and defended numerous depositions and also has significant trial experience, including a federal jury and federal bench trial.

As corporate counsel, Belton strives to help solve clients’ problems in a targeted and collaborative manner. He focuses his practice on representing clients in mergers and acquisitions, including both private equity and strategic transactions, as well as startup companies and private and public companies in the mature stages of their growth.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are among Troutman Pepper’s core values and are fundamental to the firm’s culture. Troutman Pepper has been involved with the LCLD since the organization was founded in 2009 and most recently was recognized as an LCLD 2022 Top Performer and Compass Award Winner for being among the top 20 percent of organizations based on participation in LCLD programs and activities.
