Think Systems Ranks No. 98 on Inc. Magazine’s List of the Mid-Atlantic Region’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies

Companies on the 2023 Inc. 5000 Regionals: Mid-Atlantic list had an average growth rate of 381 percent

Inc. magazine today revealed that Think Systems Inc. is No. 98 its fourth annual Inc. 5000 Regionals: Mid-Atlantic list, the most prestigious ranking of the fastest-growing Mid-Atlantic private companies, based in the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Born of the annual Inc. 5000 franchise, this regional list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the Mid-Atlantic economy’s most dynamic segment–its independent small businesses.

“Think’s continued growth is a testament to our team’s commitment to operational excellence which has helped clients capitalize on the rapid changes impacting every company in every industry,” says Tony Gruebl, founder and CEO of Think. “And we’re just getting started. We’ve assembled an all-star team that is poised to launch the company into new business opportunities. We expect to be among the fastest growing companies in the region and nationally for the foreseeable future.”

The companies on this list show a remarkable rate of growth across all industries in the Mid-Atlantic region. Between 2019 and 2021, these 142 private companies had an average growth rate of 381 percent and, in 2021 alone, they added 14,439 jobs and $2.66 billion to the Mid-Atlantic region’s economy. Companies based in the Richmond, Virginia and the Washington, D.C. areas had the highest growth rates overall.

Complete results of the Inc. 5000 Regionals: Mid-Atlantic, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, metro area, and other criteria, can be found at inc.com/mid-atlantic.

“This year’s Inc. 5000 Regional winners represent one of the most exceptional and exciting lists of America’s off-the-charts growth companies. They’re disrupters and job creators, and all delivered an outsize impact on the economy. Remember their names and follow their lead. These are the companies you’ll be hearing about for years to come,” said Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief ofInc. magazine.

Think was recognized as one of the 5,000 fastest growing private companies in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine 2021 and 2022. The 2023 list will be released in August.

Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, the company continues its east coast expansion and opened an office in 2020 in Boca Raton, Florida. And, despite the pandemic, in September of 2020, Think made a strategic acquisition of Ventrue, LLC, a consulting and shared services practice supporting Venture and PE portfolio companies, acquiring key shareholders and executives.

More about Inc. and the Inc. 5000 Regionals

Methodology

The 2023 Inc. 5000 Regionals are ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2019 and 2021. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2019. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2021. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2019 is $100,000; the minimum for 2021 is $1 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons.
