Skillpop To Launch New Hybrid Offerings, Return To In-Person Programming At Camp North End For 2023

Camp North End is thrilled to announce that it’s teaming up with Charlotte-based SkillPop, to serve as the anchor location for the company’s in-person, expert-led class and workshop offerings for 2023.

Founded in 2015 by Haley Bohon, SkillPop began with an in-person learning model, hosting pop-up style classes throughout the Southeast on topics ranging from photography and watercolor painting to business development. In 2020, the organization quickly pivoted into an online platform – SkillPop Anywhere – and, since then, tens of thousands of participants have continued to learn virtually. During that time, SkillPop also built out a business-to-business vertical that provides teambuilding and development classes to corporations like Salesforce and Lowe’s as well as small businesses.

Now, at the request of the SkillPop community, the company is transitioning into a hybrid model that will include a full lineup of in-person programming for the first time since 2020 as well as a subscription-based virtual product called “Class of the Month” for members who prefer to continue learning in that format.

“I launched SkillPop to create engaging, interactive, and accessible learning experiences,” said Bohon. “It’s our hope that those who love learning online through SkillPop Anywhere will join us at Class of the Month. We also know that many have been eagerly awaiting the return of our in-person classes and we’re beyond thrilled to host classes in person again at our new home base at Camp North End.”

SkillPop will host classes taught by local experts in the Charlotte community at 201 Camp Road every Wednesday and Thursday evening beginning at 630PM. SkillPop’s residency will kick off on February 22nd with a class led by local Charlotte community builder, multimedia specialist, career and branding consultant and digital entrepreneur, Meredith Dean.

“SkillPop is a valuable resource for the entire Charlotte community, and we’re thrilled they’ve selected Camp North End to serve as their 2023 anchor location,” said Tommy Mann, Development Director of Camp North End. “Camp North End was created to be a place where people gather and grow in community, which aligns directly with SkillPop’s mission. We’re excited that Camp tenants and visitors alike will have even more opportunities to pursue lifelong learning with SkillPop’s arrival.”

Class sizes will vary, with most between 20-30 people. A selection of seats in every SkillPop class will be specifically reserved for Camp North End tenants to utilize. Tickets for the first four classes are live now.

Bohon further commented: “We believe that community is fostered when we learn alongside others, regardless of format, and we’re excited to do more of that in 2023.  Camp North End is filled with savvy small business owners, creatives and more and we couldn’t be more excited to see how our communities come together to grow and learn from one another.”

Class of the Month, the new subscription model for virtual learning, will give members two classes per month (one live class and one on-demand class) for $19. The live class will be hosted exclusively for members with brand new content; members will also be able to select their on-demand class from a lineup curated by the SkillPop team. The first live Class of the Month will be Bullet Journaling Basics with Modern Calligrapher Danielle Rothman; people are welcome to learn more and join the virtual community at www.classofthemonth.com.
