Gustavo Neri Joins RDC’s Interior Design Group as Director of Branding

Neri adds bench strength to Interior Design, Branding and Procurement practice led by Jackson Thilenius, AIA

RDC, a full-service, award-winning architecture and interior design firm, is pleased to welcome Gustavo (Gus) Neri as Director of Branding. In this new role, Neri leads branding campaigns for hospitality, retail, workplace, and other built environment sectors. His team focuses on establishing an expressive aesthetic, distinct identities, and strong characters for each client brand.

“Gus Neri is a creative visual and verbal storyteller who brings extensive knowledge and talent to our team,” said Jackson Thilenius, AIA, RDC’s Senior Principal, Hospitality, and Interiors. “His extensive portfolio within the hospitality industry illustrates his ability to elevate the goals of our clients in ways that may not have been considered before. Gus brings integrity and thought leadership to help create the foundation necessary for original, inspired designs.”

RDC stands out with an integrated suite of identity services. The firm’s interior design team consists of architects, designers, and artists who create unique and memorable destinations through the experiential art of contextual storytelling. The addition of brand creation, brand repositioning, wayfinding, environmental graphics, signage design and other identity-forward services further enrich these experiences. At RDC, there is a collaborative spirit between the architects, interior designers, and brand storytellers; all disciplines work together to create a unified brand presence and inspired environment.

“Branding, as it relates to design, is even more important than ever before,” continued Thilenius. “We are designing in an age of hybridization, where different typologies are in support of each other in a kind of symbiotic mashup. The boundaries between experiences, whether retail focused or entertainment focused, are becoming blurred, and the narrative that binds them into a cohesive vision is driven by thoughtful branding. With the addition of Gus to our team, we are deepening our ability to offer integrated, brand-forward designs for this new future.”

Neri was formerly the Director of Branding at HBA Los Angeles, where he worked on a diverse range of hospitality projects for Hilton, Marriott, IHG and independent brands. He holds a bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design from California State University, Long Beach.

“Branding provides a profound utility in hospitality,” said Neri. “At its core, branding is the art of story-telling, and those stories have the luxury of being both literal and imaginative. They may celebrate a sense of place, champion a historic figure, and even reflect on the evolution of the brand itself. Most important to hospitality, branding plays a role in the guest’s story, reaffirming their journey and fostering an authentic connection between the brand and its audience.”

RDC provides integrated services that include architecture, branding, interior design, and procurement services for the hospitality, workplace, restaurant, and retail sectors. For more information on RDC and its Interior Design Studio offerings, visithttps://rdcollaborative.com/branding/
