Pessin Katz Law, P.A. Welcomes Joseph “Joey” Kroart III to the firm as an Associate in the Corporate and Real Estate Group. Practicing law is a second career for Mr. Kroart, who prior to attending law school, spent several years running his family’s multi-store retail operation in Ocean City, Maryland and southern Delaware. As a result, Mr. Kroart possesses a rare combination of practical business experience along with formalized legal and business training.
Mr. Kroart graduated with a joint J.D./M.B.A. degree from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law and the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.
Prior to joining PK Law, Mr. Kroart mainly focused his practice on business, corporate and real estate practice areas. However, a more generalized approach he took to practicing law allowed him to also gain expertise in areas such as condominium and homeowner association law, fire code enforcement, federal debarment and various litigation matters.
Mr. Kroart is an Eagle Scout and is active in Baltimore Area Council Boy Scouts of America functions. In 2019, he co-founded Troop 1485, the first Scouts BSA Troop for girls in the northern Baltimore County area, and he serves as Troop Committee Chair. Aside from Scouting, he enjoys spending free time with his wife and daughters in Ocean City and on Assateague Island.
