Membrion Raises $7M in Series B

Membrion, a Seattle, WA-based ceramic desalination membrane manufacturer that enables recovery of water in harsh environments, raised $7M in Series B funding.

The round was led by PureTerra Ventures, with participation from Safar Partners, GiantLeap Capital, and Freeflow. Nic Pannekeet, managing partner of PureTerra Ventures, and Himanshu Sekhar, co-founder and managing partner of GiantLeap Capital, will join Membrion’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to augment manufacturing capacity to meet future customer demand, expand the existing team with key commercial and operations specialists and add to the IP portfolio family.

Led by CEO Greg Newbloom, Membrion manufactures ceramic desalination membranes that can recover water in the harshest conditions. Membrion CeramIX® desalination membranes offer an on-site option for removal of problematic metals, minerals, and salts, and help industry to achieve its zero discharge aspirations. The membranes are low fouling, require less cleaning, are oxidizer resistant, have ultra-low pH stability, and are economical.
