FirstService Residential Appointed Property Manager of One United Nations Park at 685 First Avenue in Murray Hill

FirstService Residential, New York’s leading residential property management company, has been appointed manager for One United Nations Park, an ultra-luxury residential tower in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan. The property at 685 First Avenue comprises a mix of 148 jewel box condominiums, 408 rental units, more than 15,000 square feet of amenities, and a ground floor retail component.

FirstService Residential was appointed by GO Partners, the building’s owner, which recognized the company’s legacy of delivering resort-class services to some of the highest-end properties in New York City.

“We’re extremely proud and excited to partner with GO Partners at One United Nations Park, one of the most iconic residential properties in Murray Hill,” said Calynne Oyolokor, senior vice president of FirstService Residential’s Multifamily Rental Division. “Few other companies in New York City can render the caliber of services expected by ultra-luxury residents and owners, which is only made possible through investments in hospitality coaching programs for property managers and building staff.”

Designed by Meier Partners, a Pritzker Prize-awarded architecture studio, One United Nations Park towers 42 stories above the East River waterfront. The building’s minimalist black glass facade offers a subtle nod to modern design, maximizes resident privacy, and has created an instantly recognizable form among a crowded Midtown skyline.

Within the building, residents have access to a luxe collection of amenities including a 70-foot indoor lap pool, a sauna, a steam room, and a fitness center with a private training studio. For entertainment, the property offers a communal lounge with a billiards table, a screening room with tiered seating, and a children’s playroom. Residents also have access to an enclosed parking garage beneath the building.

Available homes range between one and four-bedroom layouts. To help enhance life at home, residences are equipped with smart-home systems that control temperature, lighting, built-in sound systems, and motorized window shades. Controls can be accessed on wall-mounted touch screens, on iOS and Android-powered mobile phones and tablets, or with the help of Alexa home companions. The most premium units also include a private balcony or terrace.

“The multifamily rental sector in New York City is more competitive than ever before, forcing property owners and developers to consider new services and amenities that position their building above similar assets,” said Oyolokor. “The homes at One United Nations Park offer a thoughtful collection of smart home technologies that function as an attractive, in-unit amenity, and are one of the most appealing selling points for realtors and prospective residents.”

FirstService Residential has observed significant growth in its property management portfolio across all asset types including multifamily rentals, condominiums, and cooperatives. Since last year, the company has added nearly 5,000 residential units to its New York City management portfolio and continues its northern expansion into Westchester Country.

Among the company’s new clients are some of the city’s most iconic multifamily properties, including

Madison House, an 805-foot-tall skyscraper in NoMad; 100 Eleventh Avenue, designed by Pritzker Prize laureate and renowned architect Jean Nouvel; American Copper Buildings, an award-winning, dual-tower rental property in Murray Hill; One Boerum Place, home to the most expensive rental apartment in Brooklyn history; and Parkway Village, a 675-unit garden-style community in Briarwood, Queens.

Last year, FirstService Residential also announced a national expansion of its energy consulting and advisory services across the U.S. and Canada. Provided through its energy advisory affiliate FirstService Energy, the expansion will bring the benefits of the company’s sustainability advisory services to more than 1.7 million homes across 8,600 residential communities as well as the company’s own corporate offices.
