Postino WineCafe Opening in West Midtown Early 2023

Eatery and Wine Bar Expands to Vibrant West Midtown Neighborhood

After opening its flagship Southeastern location in Buckhead, Postino WineCafé has eyes set on another Atlanta neighborhood: West Midtown. The new West Midtown location, at 1000 Marietta Street, just down the road from The Optimist and across the street from Emmy Squared Pizza, is set to open at the start of the new year and will offer its award-winning culinary and wine selections that Postino is known for.

“Opening a second location in Atlanta is a huge deal for us,” said Lauren Bailey, Postino co-founder. “We have had an incredible response from guests at our Buckhead location, and we can’t wait to join the West Midtown community.”

When it comes to the menu, Postino’s varied menu is made for all occasions with a wide selection of charcuterie boards, bruschetta, shareable “Snacky Things,” salads, bountiful panini, and desserts. Its signature bruschetta is served with artisan bread topped with a choice of 12 options including prosciutto di Parma, fig and mascarpone, sweet and spicy pepper jam and goat cheese, smoked salmon and pesto, and more. Savory house-made meatballs and goat cheese, crispy cauliflower, and the OMG grilled cheese pair perfectly with the rustic Chef’s Charcuterie. Other menu items include a lineup of fresh salads including guest-favorite Brussels salad with kale, spicy Marcona almond, bacon, dried cherry, shaved manchego cheese, and a perfectly tart lemon dressing, as well as a lineup of panini including the Tuscan tuna and chicken and mozzarella. Postino works with Georgia purveyors including Farmers & Fishermen to source specialty meat, cheese, and jam imports.

Like its Buckhead location, Postino WineCafé in West Midtown will offer a carefully curated selection of wines by the glass and bottle, within an environment that makes it perfectly acceptable for guests to gather and enjoy a glass at just about any time, underscoring its mantra that “Drinking Wine at Lunch Is Not a Crime.” Its award-winning, proprietary wine program is curated by advanced sommelier and beverage director Brent Karlicek. Karlicek, who also is sitting for his Master Sommelier designation, travels the world creating relationships with boutique wineries and offering his curated collection of wines, wine-centric cocktails and craft beers—many that can only be found at Postino. Wine enthusiasts can join Postino’s Wine Cult membership club featuring wines handpicked by Karlicek and exclusive events and perks.

The company takes pleasure in uncovering gems in neighborhoods and breathing life back into what was. In typical Postino fashion, Postino West Midtown will occupy a 4,415-square-foot former brick factory that also once housed a Ford Motor Cars dealership and an appliance store in the 1950s and 1960s. A unique focal point of each location (think Postino Buckhead’s VHS wall in the former Blockbuster Video space), the new Midtown location will feature an eye-catching Matchbox car wall and bathroom ceilings decoupaged with vintage car advertisements as a nod to its Ford Motor Cars history.

“In each location, we work with our design team to install a unique art wall that connects with the history of the building or community,” says Bailey. “This new location has a rich and varied history—from bricks to cars to appliances—giving us a lot of fun ways to make this space completely unique to West Midtown.”

The welcoming space includes intimately designed nooks and crannies, an expansive indoor-outdoor bar, and an umbrella-lined patio that creates a flexible space where guests can meet friends for shareable snacks, sneak away for a dinner date, gather for a meeting or catch up on work with a palate-pleasing glass of wine.

Postino WineCafé West Midtown will be located at 1000 Marietta St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. For more information, please visit postinowinecafe.com.
