Morrison Cohen Elects Four Senior Counsel To Partnership

Alina Grinman will become partner in our Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Practice, where she represents public and private company CEOs and senior executives in negotiating and drafting all forms of compensation and employment arrangements, as well as in connection with M&A transactions, IPOs, financing arrangements and securities offerings. Alina is recognized in Super Lawyers New York Metro Rising Stars and New York Women’s Edition. Jeff Laska, partner and co-chair of the Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Practice, noted, “Alina operates at a very high level, to the point where she frequently gets compliments from attorneys ‘across the table.’ She is well-respected by her peers and clients alike, and her client network is continually expanding.”

Gillian Kessler will become partner in our Real Estate Practice, where her clients, including purchasers, sellers, owners, investors and lenders, rely on her counsel on a wide array of commercial real estate matters, including single asset and portfolio acquisitions and sales. Partner Stephen Soleymani said, “Gillian is an excellent attorney who has skillfully handled many of the firm’s more complicated real estate transactions. Tali Newman will join Alina as partner in the Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Practice. Tali regularly advises clients in the negotiation, design and implementation of a broad range of employment agreements. A major focus of Tali’s practice is advising clients with respect to all aspects of leveraged and non-leveraged ESOP transactions, as well as mergers and acquisitions of ESOP companies. Brian Snarr, partner and co-chair of the Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Practice, remarked, “Tali is already a respected authority in the world of ESOP transactions. She thinks clearly, has good commercial sense and is frequently the first call clients make on important matters she is staffed on.”

Heath Rosenblat will become partner in the Business Solutions, Restructuring & Governance Practice. He holds an LL.M. in Bankruptcy and brings more than two decades of experience to his corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and commercial litigation practice. He was an adjunct professor at St. John’s University School of Law from 2009 to 2017, where he taught a bankruptcy practice litigation seminar. “Heath has invaluable knowledge and experience in the area of bankruptcy litigation. He is an excellent lawyer and trusted counsel to his clients and colleagues,” said Joe Moldovan, partner and chair of the Business Solutions, Restructuring & Governance Practice.
