Esteemed Estate Planning Group Joins Venable’s Baltimore Office

Venable LLP is pleased to announce the addition of three partners to its Private Wealth Planning Group. Jonathan D. Eisner, Thomas M. Grace, and Marianne Schmitt Hellauer reside in the firm’s Baltimore office.

Mr. Eisner concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of estate planning, including the drafting and construction of wills and trusts; business planning; estate and trust administration; and estate, gift, and income tax matters. He is particularly experienced at handling intergenerational family planning matters. Prior to joining Venable, Mr. Eisner served as the chair of a global law firm’s trusts and estates practice group. He received his J.D., with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law and his B.S. in Engineering Science with a concentration in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.

Mr. Grace concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of estate and tax planning, including the drafting of wills and trust agreements; estate and trust administration; estate, gift, income, and generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax matters; the setup and administration of private foundations; and techniques and structures for preserving and transmitting wealth within families. He frequently represents numerous members of a family in connection with their estate planning matters, often extending across two or three generations, which helps to provide continuity of goals and asset management for the family. Mr. Grace received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Villanova University

Ms. Hellauer advises high-net-worth clients on estate planning strategies that include complex business entity and trust structuring issues. She concentrates her practice primarily in the areas of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning for entrepreneurs and executives of public companies, as well as the representation of fiduciaries in all aspects of trust and estate administration, including tax audits and probate matters. She also advises individuals and institutions on charitable planning matters, including the organization and operation of private foundations and public endowments. Ms. Hellauer received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Maryland. She is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and is a past chair of the Estates and Trusts Section of the Maryland State Bar Association.
