Maryland Multi-Housing Association Board Elects New Executive Leaders

The Maryland Multi-Housing Association (MMHA), which represents rental housing providers and professional residential services in Maryland, elected new executive leadership for its Board of Directors for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. Becky Clise will serve as President, Amy Asuquo will serve as Vice President, Steve Weidner will serve as Treasurer, and Erika Orlaskey will serve as Secretary.

Clise most recently served as vice president of the Board. A senior regional property manager at WPM Real Estate Management, Clise joined WPM in 2013 and boasts more than 20 years of experience in the multifamily residential industry. Prior to WPM, she was regional marketing and training director for a portfolio of 3,900 units in three states and worked for a large REIT managing 960 units in Baltimore. Clise holds a CPM designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and is very active in MMHA, serving on several committees.

Asuquo is director of property management for the Multifamily Division of Continental Realty Corporation (CRC), and will serve as vice president of MMHA’s Board. Asuquo joined CRC in 2009, where she is responsible for day-to-day oversight of multifamily communication operations. Asuquo has worked at CRC in positions ranging from leasing specialist to community manager and regional portfolio manager. Asuquo also holds a Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation from the National Apartment Association and a bachelor’s degree from Towson University.

Weidner, president/CEO of Carpet Consultants, will continue his tenure as treasurer of MMHA’s Board, a position he has held for 17 years. Weidner graduated from Purdue University with a degree in industrial relations and has worked for for Carpet Consultants for more than 30 years. Weidner also serves as the vice president of the Mid Atlantic Floor Covering Association’s Board of Directors.

Orlaskey is the president of Signature Properties and will serve as secretary of the Board. Orlaskey has gained extensive experience in the areas of operations and management, marketing and sales, human resources, and risk management throughout her career in Property Management. Orlaskey has served as chair of MMHA’s Education Committee and as a member of its HR Council and Outreach Committee. She has earned her CAPS and CAM certifications and was the recipient of the Miki Wilson Shining Star Award from MMHA in 2017.
