Agrology Raises Seed Funding

Agrology, an Alexandria, Virginia, and Sonoma, California-based climate tech startup, raised an undisclosed amount in Seed funding.

The round was led by Active Impact Investments, with participation form Skyview Ventures and Phoenix Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to grow the team and expand their reach into national and international markets.

Led by Founder and CEO Adam Koeppel, Agrology is a climate tech startup and Public Benefit Corporation whose mission is to protect the economic viability of farmers in a time of intensifying climate change. Founded in 2019, the company provides a predictive agricultural platform that helps farmers monitor crops and receive predictive insights on irrigation, extreme weather, soil carbon respiration and sequestration, pest and disease outbreaks, and more.

Agrology gathers data in customers’ fields then processes data using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) models. The system precisely forecasts up to four days out, empowering growers to put ground-truth data behind their sustainability and regenerative practices and manage valuable resources. The company also offers a soil carbon respiration monitoring system to provide critical real-time data, tracking soil microbiome health and changes in soil carbon content–a key component to farmers fighting climate change with regenerative practices.

Current customers include Braga Fresh, The Duckhorn Portfolio, Boisset Collection, Dana Estates, Emeritus Vineyards, Jordan Vineyards and Winery, Lawrence Vineyards, Renteria Vineyard Management, Signorello Estate, Silver Oak Vineyards, and numerous specialty farms.
