Bridge Alliance Education Fund Releases 2022 Diversity Report

Third Annual Diversity Report Shows Progress in Growing DEI Efforts in Democracy Field

The Bridge Alliance Education Fund (BAEF) and Bridge Alliance, a coalition of over 100 organizations working together to promote healthy self-governance, today announced the release of its 2022 diversity report. The 2022 diversity report is the BAEF’s third annual report and is one of the Bridge Alliance’s key initiatives to underscore its commitment to support and grow diversity and inclusion across the democracy field.

Some of the key findings from the diversity report include:

  • A significant increase in BIPOC+ board members
  • A significant increase in ideologically independent and right-of-center leaders, including both executives and board members
  • A significant increase in younger (ages 25-44) board members
  • An increase in female executives

The BAEF diversity report analyzes data from not only within its organization, but also leadership and constituents throughout the various member organizations across the democracy field. The Bridge Alliance member organizations serve as a microcosm of the thousands of organizations working toward civic engagement, electoral reform, and healthy governance.

The report highlights progress made in diversity, equity, and inclusion across the democracy field, as well as Bridge Alliance initiatives to help carry out and reach its 2023 DEI goals. The diversity report considers diversity from many standpoints including, race/ethnicity, age, ideology, gender/sex and more.

“Our goal is to raise awareness of the steps that can be taken related to all aspects of our work so that the democracy reform field is more reflective of our country’s demographics,” said Debilyn Molineaux, President and CEO of the Bridge Alliance. “The data featured in the diversity report allows us to hold ourselves accountable, increase our effectiveness and bring more viewpoints and diverse solutions to the table.”
