Holy Cross Health received its fifth consecutive “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, the most recent for fall 2022, a national distinction the recognizes achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error.
“This national recognition is a reflection of the commitment we make to the highest quality of patient care,” Mark Doyle, President and CEO of Holy Cross Health, said. “The assigned grade is based on more than 30 national performance measures and the systems we have in place to prevent harm. A fifth consecutive “A” rating means we are diligent, compassionate and consistent in our patient care.”
An independent national watchdog organization, The Leapfrog Group assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals in the U.S. based on national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections and systems in place to for prevention.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
