Coastal Medical Transportation Systems Names Brendan McNiff as Chief Operating Officer

HYANNIS, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Coastal Medical Transportation Systems, a privately owned and operated medical transportation company dedicated to providing the highest quality of care with compassion, dignity and respect for customers and their patients, today announced the appointment of Brendan McNiff as chief operating officer.

McNiff is a highly experienced, senior leader who specializes in operational efficiency, mergers and acquisitions, strategic growth, contract negotiations, fiscal planning and strategy, lean process improvement, and client relations. Most recently, McNiff was the chief operating officer and chief financial officer for DPV Transportation Worldwide.

“The Coastal family is excited to welcome Brendan McNiff to our leadership team,” said Alex Theoharidis, founder and chief executive officer, Coastal Medical Transportation Systems. “Brendan has extensive experience as a C-suite leader and holds more than 30 years of experience in strategic leadership. He is a goal-directed, results-oriented professional with a strong business management background and we are thrilled to have him on the team as we continue to expand our footprint in the Eastern Massachusetts region.”

McNiff’s hire closely follows CMTS’ recent agreement with Transformative Healthcare to acquire their ambulance network to expand the CMTS service area to collectively cover the Cape and the Islands, South Shore, Boston Metro, and Central Massachusetts regions. The acquisition also increased the overall size of the team, bringing the total number of employees in the CMTS team to 1,000 with a fleet of 213 ambulances.

“I am excited to join the Coastal Medical Transportation Systems team, especially in a year that has seen significant investment and growth in operations, resources, and service area for the organization at large. I look forward to working with this experienced and dedicated team of healthcare leaders and providers who have a firm grasp on the ever-changing pulse of this industry,” said Brendan McNiff, chief operating officer, Coastal Medical Transportation Systems.

Nearly 30 years ago, McNiff began his professional career as the General Manager and EVP of Operations for American Medical Response. After spending 20 years in his role, he joined Falck US as their Chief Operating Officer. In this role, McNiff provided leadership and strategic direction to medical transportation companies based in the Eastern United States. McNiff also sits on several healthcare and technology boards, including the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Accreditation, Roundtrip Healthcare, and Qudos Technologies.
