Momento Raises $15M in Seed Funding

Momento, a Seattle, WA-based provider of caching solution for developers, raised $15M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures with participation from The General Partnership, Marianna Tessel, Neha Narkhede, Tom Killalea, Don MacAskill, and John Lilly.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its engineering team, to build a full cycle GTM team, to expand its platform and to add support for additional clouds.

Led by CEO Khawaja Shams and CTO Daniela Miao, Momento removes the need to manage caches by providing a serverless caching solution that works at scale so developers can concentrate on developing products and services. The company’s serverless cache is built to optimize and accelerate any database that runs in AWS or GCP today and is a backend-as-a-service (BaaS) serverless platform so there is zero infrastructure to manage. Its Serverless Cache automatically manages hot-keys, maintains high cache hit rates, and keeps tail latencies low. The company has a fully remote team of distributed systems experts who built large-scale, mission critical systems at Amazon, GitHub, Intuit and Valve who are applying the same rigor to serverless cache.
