Davis Announces Leadership Transition and Expansion

Dominic Argentieri named President and New Executives Added to Expanded Corporate Leadership Team

DAVIS Construction, a leading General Contractor in the MidAtlantic region, has announced today that Dominic Argentieri has been named President and Benjamin Cohen, Ronald Juban, Michael Pittsman and Meghan Ulrich have joined the firm’s leadership team as Principals, a transition effective January 1, 2023. In addition to these appointments, Bill Moyer, has announced his retirement as Principal, but will remain engaged in the organization through his role as an advisor.

Argentieri, Cohen, Juban, Pittsman and Ulrich will be added to the existing Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) that includes Jim Davis (CEO), Dennis Cotter (Founding Partner) and Peggy Jones (Principal).

Additionally, Michelle Christen, EVP-Finance, Constantine Athanas, EVP-General Counsel and Chris Scanlon, Chief Innovation Officer will partner with the CLT to round out the strategic planning committee, an executive body designed to establish priorities and set goals. DAVIS leadership agrees that this is a critical move for diversity and inclusion as well as elevating the firm’s growing senior team and creating more depth of leadership for the growing organization.

With offices in Rockville, MD and Philadelphia, PA, DAVIS is one of the largest general contractors in the Eastern United States, building projects across a wide span of market sectors ranging from commercial office buildings and interiors to life sciences and multi-family.

The firm has a team of over 400 professionals and has delivered countless complex projects–from completing the biggest building move in DC history, to building the largest parking garage east of the Mississippi. Founded in 1966, DAVIS became an employee-owned company in 1990 and offers an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), one way that DAVIS shares profits with employees.

According to Argentieri, “One key priority for DAVIS is to continue to embrace and value diversity as a strength. With our growing leadership team, we are more committed than ever to intentionally building a workplace where our employees and partners are provided the necessary support to be successful.  We know our clients will benefit from this inclusive philosophy and this will make our organization strong for the long-term.”

Pittsman added, “Voted on by our employees, DAVIS has been consistently recognized as a Best Place to Work by the Washington Business Journal for 16 years, and we look forward to continuing to invest in our talented team and to drive success through empowering our people. I am especially grateful for Bill Moyer’s leadership as he has had tremendous passion in mentoring all of us to take on this new chapter in DAVIS’ growth.”

New Corporate Leadership Team Members

The following leaders have been announced as part of the expanded DAVIS executive team:

Dominic Argentieri, President

Dominic approaches his work with an open mind while stimulating a collaborative and solutions-driven environment. He works in conjunction with DAVIS teams and external business partners to align our efforts with specific needs of projects – all the while balancing the broader objectives of DAVIS. Viewing every element of a project holistically, he proactively identifies and helps solve project and business challenges ahead of the curve. Collectively, Dominic’s experience has helped him find commonalities and build a better tomorrow for DAVIS employees, business partners, trade partners and the local community.

Benjamin Cohen, Principal

Ben leads by example, setting the foundation for success within his team and the company. His leadership skills and honed expertise in sustainable construction stand out among colleagues and industry peers alike. He is actively engaged in the early planning stages, flushing out project risks in the preconstruction phase thus enabling his team to quickly and efficiently solve problems – a critical skill in the fast-paced nature of construction. Ben’s hands on approach in corporate strategy, cross-sector marketing, and business development proves valuable in driving the company onward and upward.

Ronald Juban Jr, Principal

A highly regarded industry veteran, Ron is a tenacious problem-solver, actively engaged early in negotiations and project planning — all the way through closeout. His extensive portfolio is full of complex and highly technical projects, from mixed-use to high-rise, secure buildings to corporate headquarters. Ron brings an encyclopedic knowledge of local codes and regulations for all building types. His calm consistency and technical know-how are incomparable, and equally valued by both DAVIS’ team and our clients.

Michael Pittsman, Principal

Mike is a passionate representative of DAVIS’ approach to business — committed, collaborative, and creative. Mike is a leader whose energy and enthusiasm haven’t wavered from when his career began, over 30 years ago. His success for executing projects coupled with his passion of building long-lasting relationships has helped propel DAVIS’ growth over his 25+years at DAVIS.  Mike’s growth in the industry corresponds with DAVIS’ position as a market leader in building and renovating office buildings, educational facilities, landmarks and multi-family residential.

Meghan Ulrich, Principal
With over two decades of construction experience and a long track record of planning and executing complex projects, Meghan is prepared for any job. She provides expertise and direction to our operations teams, and confers with them at all stages of development to enhance processes. Meghan is passionate about working with team members to find efficiencies and improve business practices. She uses her technical precision and sharp attention to detail to meet any challenge and find a solution, and that fearlessness makes Meghan an invaluable part of DAVIS’ mission.

With a core focus on safe and affordable housing, health and wellness, education, and sustainability, a hallmark of the DAVIS team is giving back and strengthening the community.  Whether renovating low-income housing, creating new space in an after-school facility serving at-risk kids, revitalizing a performance theater for a local school, or providing career coaching and interview seminars to underprivileged adults — DAVIS is proud to invest at every level.
