Expanding its project management team, Mid Hudson Construction Management (MHCM) has named Robert VanCott as project manager and site superintendent. In his new role, Mr. VanCott will be responsible for trade subcontractor buyouts, preplanning, oversight and supervision of labor performance and maintaining clear communication among project stakeholders to ensure project schedule expectations are realized. Mr. VanCott will also assist MHCM’s pre-construction division.
“Rob’s in-depth and hands-on experience in leading projects from pre-planning to completion will add yet another layer of invaluable expertise to our project management team,” said Ray Travis, president and CEO of MHCM. “We’re thrilled to have him on board and are excited to see the contributions and impact he’ll make as part of our field operations team.”
Before joining MHCM, Mr. VanCott served as a hybrid project manager and licensed NYC site superintendent working with New York City firms The Vorea Group, Consigli Construction and TG Nickel & Associates. In his role, he led site management operations on commercial multi-family, hospitality and high end residential real estate development projects totaling over $300 million. In addition to private sector work, Mr. VanCott was also a critical member of the MTA’s Capital Construction team working for Parsons Brinkerhoff (now WSP) on the 96th Street Station 2nd Avenue subway project.
Mr. VanCott is a graduate of the University of Hartford and the Schack Institute of Real Estate at New York University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and a Master of Science in Construction Management, respectively. After graduating from NYU, Mr. VanCott became an adjunct faculty member, teaching courses in construction cost estimating. Additionally, Mr. VanCott is certified by the United States Green Building Council as a LEED AP, which distinguishes those with advanced knowledge in green building and the LEED rating system. Mr. VanCott resides in the Hudson Valley where he and his wife enjoy raising their family, spending time with friends and being active outdoors.
