Think Systems Names Beth Perlman Managing Director, CIO Advisor

Before joining Think, Perlman was a Vice President and Program Director at Gartner, a global technology research and consulting firm.

Think Systems, Inc., a national management consulting firm that helps medium and large mid-market companies with organizational solutions and strategic hiring, announced today that it has named Beth Perlman, Managing Director, Chief Information Officer (CIO) Advisor.

Ms. Perlman has more than 20 years of experience in upper-level management and has worked at some of the most recognized companies in the world in both technology and business. She brings an array of talents to the company that include strategic planning, business transformation, mergers and acquisitions and identifying and implementing technology to enter new markets and improve business performance.

“Beth is a top rate talent with a wealth of experience in areas ranging from finance and energy to education and technology,” said Joe Poling, President of Commercial Services at Think. “With her extensive background in C-level positions she’ll be a force to push Think to the next level.”

Before joining Think, Perlman was a Vice President and Program Director of Gartner, a global technology research and management consulting firm. At Gartner, Perlman was responsible for working with Fortune 200 C-level executives examining how business models evolved as technology is woven ever more deeply into the products and services sold. Her focus was with the Research Board, an international think tank dedicated to the issues confronting the world’s largest corporations.

After graduating from Syracuse University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in management, Perlman worked at major Wall Street firms, including JP Morgan, Kidder Peabody, and Lehman Brothers. She was responsible for systems ranging from Corporate Financial systems to back-office trading accounting systems to derivatives front, mid and back-office technology.

In 1995, she joined energy giant Enron as Director, Risk Management Administration and rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Wholesale Services Technology. In 2002, she joined Constellation Energy in Baltimore and was named the corporation’s first Chief Information Office. She also held the titles of Chief Administrative Officer and a Senior Vice President at the company.

Perlman worked at several other organizations until she joined Maryland Live Casino as Senior Vice President, CIO in 2017. It was at Maryland Live where she met Tony Gruebl, founder and CEO of Think.

“After meeting Tony, I knew one day we would work together,” Perlman said. “I joined Think at such a perfect time. They’re really ramping it up and positioning themselves for growth.” Perlman describes herself as an executive who never settles “I always raise the bar,” she said. “Status quo is not okay for me. In my own mind, I am always behind. I am never satisfied. I always think you can do better.”
