Let The Good Times Roll With August Events At The Works

The dog days of summer are here and to beat the heat, The Works has a full calendar of family-friendly events this August! From comedy under the stars, happy hour for furry friends, shopping and more, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Upper Westside’s largest mixed-use gathering place.

The full August events lineup is outlined below:

Happy Campers: Kids Play Wednesdays

Wednesday, August 3 from 10 a.m. – noon

Join us for the Kids Play Wednesdays series this month! Bring the little ones to The Works the first Wednesday of every month for crafts, activities and a variety of featured guests that will engage the kids in a fun and educational way. A parent or guardian must stay with each child during the program. This is best suited for ages 4-9, but everyone is welcome! After the program, enjoy a delicious lunch from Chattahoochee Food Works or Fox Bros BBQ. Each session will be held at the Spur Stage and is weather dependent. Yappy Hour: Pup Meetup

Thursday, August 4, 18 and 25 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Bring your furry friends to The Works for Yappy Hour on The Spur! Grab a refreshing drink from Dr. Scofflaw’s Brewing, a delicious meal from Chattahoochee Food Works and kick back and relax with live music while your pup has a ball playing with others. Each Yappy Hour will feature one pup-focused vendor offering a variety of products, treats and surprises. This is a free, family-friendly event. Chattahoochee Food Works: Karaoke Night

Thursday, August 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 7 – 10 p.m.

Sing your heart out to your favorite song at Karaoke Night at Chattahoochee Food Works! Grab a bite to eat from one (or more!) of the 31 food vendors and your favorite beverage from the Center Bar before jamming out with your family and friends. Wellness at The Works: POMSQUAD Fitness

Kick off your Saturday at The Works with POMSQUAD Fitness! POMSQUAD is a high energy dance fitness class where guests will be shaking poms while prancing, dancing, bending and snapping to today’s hit tunes and throwbacks. These classes are easy to follow and are designed to maximize the number of calories burned while strengthening and toning the body. Featuring a wide variety of dance styles and choreography, there is something for everyone to enjoy in class. American Red Cross Blood Drive

Wednesday, August 17 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Amidst the ongoing national blood shortage, The Works has teamed up with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive. The drive will be held in the Workshop space in the Makers Building. Foxeria del Sol Hatch Chile Fest

Sunday, August 21 from 2 – 6 p.m.

Join Taqueria del Sol and Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q for the return of their beloved Foxeria del Sol Hatch Chile Fest at The Works! This year’s festivities will also include Scofflaw Brewing and New Orleans’ Blue Oak BBQ. One hundred percent of ticket sales will go towards Hogs for the Cause, a music festival benefiting pediatric cancer, and will be distributed to families in Atlanta and the North Georgia market through a partnership with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Upper Westside PUPFEST – Benefiting Atlanta Humane Society

Saturday, August 27 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Celebrate National Dog Day in style at The Works! The 2nd annual Upper Westside PUPFEST will take place on Camp Street and will feature music by Broken String Band and DJ Steve. There will be dog-friendly vendors, cooling stations, giveaways and along with a few surprises. Ticket purchases will help raise money for the Atlanta Humane Society and guests will have the opportunity to win prizes from the Upper Westside’s preferred doggy daycare WAG-A-LOT and as well as gift cards to tenants at The Works. Don’t have a pup? No problem! There will be plenty of photo opportunities and ways to support the Atlanta Humane Society at this event.
