NEW YORK–( BUSINESS WIRE )–Axonic Capital, a New York-based structured loan, commercial real estate and systematic fixed income investment specialist with $4.8 billion in assets under management, announced the appointment of Michael Gordon, who will lead the insurance business of Axonic to expand further.
Axonic’s Insurance Solutions business is focused on providing capital and investment solutions that meet the liabilities of policyholders and other stakeholders. Gordon will be responsible for leading insurance investments, strategic partnerships and other transactions with insurance companies.
Michael Gordon has over 20 years of experience, particularly in the areas of insurance and investment management. Prior to Axonic, Gordon was US Chief Executive Officer and Group Chief Operating Officer at Lombard International.

Prior to Lombard International, Michael Gorden was Global Head of Insurance Solutions at BNY Mellon Investment Management. Prior to BNY Mellon, he was a senior executive at New York Life Insurance Company, where he was responsible for investment and insurance product management, including sales and marketing, underwriting, operational and technology functions, and oversight of the broker dealer and registered investment advisor divisions for the US life insurance business.
Gordon holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Colgate University.
