Finmarc Management, Inc., a commercial real estate investment and management firm headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, has announced the selection of Emily Heppen as Senior Director of Leasing. Bringing more than 10 years of diversified commercial real estate experience to the company, she spent the last three years functioning as Senior Leasing Representative for DLC Management Corporation, a national owner and manager of retail shopping centers.
Heppen’s responsibilities with the company include devising and executing marketing and leasing functions for a portion of Finmarc’s portfolio of more than seven million square feet of commercial office, industrial/flex and retail properties situated in the Mid-Atlantic region. Her role includes identifying companies and groups looking to expand or create a new presence within a specific sub-market; handling lease negotiation and renewal activities and establishing and maintaining relationships in commercial real estate brokerage industry. Heppen will also interact with Finmarc’s in-house asset management team to build and maintain peak value for all corporate assets.
Finmarc recently acquired an 11-building portfolio comprising approximately 740,000 square feet of flex/office, industrial and data center space in Springfield, Virginia near Fort Belvoir, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and Marine Corps Base Quantico.
During her time with DLC Management Corporation, Heppen was responsible for leasing a 1.5 million square foot portfolio situated in Maryland and the Midwest and engaged with national tenants on multi-property lease transactions. She also worked as Assistant Vice President of Leasing for Broad Street Realty, a Federal Realty Specialist with government contractor Cherokee Nation Businesses under contract with National Institutes of Health’s real estate acquisitions department, and as an Associate with the Government Services Group of Cushman & Wakefield.
Heppen earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and Sociology from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master’s of Science degree in Real Estate from American University’s Kogod School of Business. She serves on the Real Estate Council at American University, ICSC’s DC/MD/VA Next Generation Committee, ICSC’s Mid-Atlantic 2022 Planning Committee and is a member of ULI and NAIOP. Last year, Heppen was recognized by CoStar Group as a “Power Broker.”
