Road to Responsibility (RTR), one of the region’s largest and most successful nonprofit organizations supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is gearing up for its event of the year – the annual “Making Lives Better” Gala – which this year will boast a host of exciting features, including a Champagne Wall raffle, with a spectacular grand prize, courtesy of Hingham Jewelers.

The fun feature offers those attending the September 15th event, to be held at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, to purchase a glass of champagne off the Champagne Wall, entering them for a chance to win the grand prize. And what a grand prize it is – an Italian-made Roberto Coin Princess Flower necklace, crafted in 18k white gold, and boasting 0.17 ct. of diamonds.

Michael Page of Hingham Jewelers further describes the necklace as 18″ in length, with an extra closure at 16″ to allow for versatility. A small ruby is set on the back of the necklace, a signature of Roberto Coin pieces. According to ancient lore, when the ruby touches the skin of its wearer, it’s said to bring long life and prosperity!

“We are thrilled to continue our support for Road to Responsibility at this year’s Gala,” said David Page, CFO of Hingham Jewelers. “Seeing the excitement on the faces of those who benefit from RTR services at events like this make our contribution so worthwhile. Individuals of all skill levels and abilities deserve the same opportunities. Road to Responsibility ensures that’s the case on the South Shore.”

This donation is just one example of the Page family’s longtime involvement with Road to Responsibility.  Michael has also served as the emcee of the gala for several years, and David is a board member and volunteer.

This year’s annual mission driven event will also feature a cocktail reception, interactive gaming experiences, a mobile bidding auction, dinner, live entertainment, a dessert buffet, and a special program highlighting and celebrating the progress and change Road to Responsibility has made for individuals in the local community.

RTR is partnering with many local vendors and businesses as a way to make this year’s gala extra special and to recognize regional commerce for their support over the decades.

Tickets for the 34th annual gala, which this year will be emceed by radio celebrity Candy O’Terry, are now available as are sponsorship opportunities. Contact Erin Cohen at ECohen@rtrinc.org for more information.

“The excitement is definitely building as we come closer to the 2022 Making Lives Better Gala,” said Christopher T. White, Ed.D., president and CEO of Road to Responsibility. “We look forward to celebrating our achievements of the past year, while raising funds to advance our mission to provide the means, the opportunity, and the support necessary to allow citizens with disabilities to take their place as productive members of the community – and also to have some fun!”

About Road to Responsibility, Inc.

Celebrating over 30 years of making lives better, Road to Responsibility, Inc. (RTR) was established in 1988 with the overarching belief that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities deserve to have full, rich, and rewarding lives in the community, and therefore works to provide the means, the opportunity, and the support necessary to allow citizens with disabilities to take their place as productive members of the community. RTR offers residential, work/employment, day habilitation and other day supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. RTR supports individuals with very diverse needs, including those with significant challenges who would otherwise go unserved if not for RTR. It succeeds where other organizations often fail, through the use of an integrated clinical behavioral approach. This model has proven successful and yielded positive results for the organization and the individuals served.
