Kadena Attracts Top Engineers and Developers

Kadena moves to bolster blockchain technical expertise and expand sales, marketing and operations teams in its mission to fuel growth and adoption of Web3

CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Kadena, the only layer-1 Proof-of-Work protocol to solve the blockchain trilemma of scalability, security, and decentralization, today announced the hiring of top engineers and developers and its plan to double employee head count across the platform’s technology, business development, marketing and operations departments by the end of 2022.

“We’re building a top-notch team of world-class technologists to take Kadena’s core blockchain platform to new levels of speed, functionality, and usability. Additionally, we’re making a purposeful and strategic investment in people across all departments,” said Stuart Popejoy, Founder and CEO of Kadena. “By adding talented individuals who bring diversity in work experience, culture and community, we’re poised to secure our position as a blockchain infrastructure leader, skyrocket growth, and deliver a new generation of Web3 applications to the mainstream.”

Kadena continues to hire technical experts with a broad range of engineering and web development experience, including several from top layer-1s to bring world-class coding skills to the platform. Kadena’s newest technical leaders include:

  • John Wiegley, Lead Architect/Engineer: Known for his deep expertise in Haskell, John brings more than three decades of experience across software engineering and programming languages to Kadena. He most recently worked at DFINITY as a verification, modeling and implementation engineer. John also maintained the Free Software Foundation’s GNU Emacs application and served for 15 years as a member of the C++ Standards Committee. At Kadena, John will focus on Pact development while supporting a range of other technology priorities.
  • Randy Daal, Developer Experience Lead: With over 15 years in web development, Randy joins Kadena to enhance the front-end user experience for project founders and builders on Kadena’s blockchain. Randy also co-founded FrontMania, a foundation that organized meetups, conferences and other activities for the front-end community.

Kadena’s growth is surpassing many other blockchain projects with 25 full-time team members located throughout the world and a goal to double its employee base by the end of the year. Beyond technical roles, Kadena is hiring across departments to support new DeFi, NFT and Web3 projects which will be announced throughout 2022, along with other growth milestones.

“Kadena is working to create a more stable and secure environment for blockchain builders,” said John Wiegley, Lead Architect/Engineer at Kadena. “I’m honored and excited to help refine Kadena’s smart contract technology, Pact, to attract and support next-generation blockchain projects.”
