Leadership Broward Foundation Hosts Successful Fun Lunch

Six business, community and civic leaders were recently honored during the annual Fun Lunch hosted by Leadership Broward Foundation.

“We are so thrilled that this year’s Fun Lunch was the most successful ever,” said Jamie Wasserman of Shutts & Bowen, who co-chaired the event with Whitney Dutton of Dutton Real Estate Services and Kate Goldman of Baptist Health South Florida. “Funds raised during the Fun Lunch benefit the outstanding leadership, educational and community programs of Leadership Broward.”

The six honorees in 2022 who were recognized for their contributions to the community were Tim Cronin, Class XXXI, Truist Bank; Fort Lauderdale resident Jeff Fauer, Class XXXIII, Tripp Scott, P.A. and Leadership Broward board chair; West Park resident and Florida State Senator Shevrin Jones, Class XXVII; Fort Lauderdale resident Jen Klaassens, Class XXVIII, Jen Klaassens Consulting; Plantation resident Dorothy Klein, Class XIV, Broward Public Library Foundation; and Coral Springs resident Ellice Martinez, Class XXIX, HCA East Florida.

“I think the key word is ‘fun,’” said Dutton. “Everybody really enjoyed networking, honoring these community leaders and just getting together after a two-year postponement due to the pandemic.”

Funds were raised through a balloon raffle, a raffle for gift baskets and ticket sales, resulting in nearly $70,000 that will be used to provide a range of leadership development programs for businesses, community professionals and students.

“We cannot thank our honorees and our generous sponsors enough for their support,” said Goldman. “We’d also like to recognize our committee for really going above and beyond to make sure this was the best Fun Lunch yet.”

Sponsors were SouthState, Shutts, Tripp Scott, Baptist Health, Truist, BBX Capital, Broward Public Library Foundation, Broward Health, Holland & Knight and JM Family Enterprises, Inc.
