Jackson Lewis Names Donald E. English, Jr. Office Managing Principal

Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Donald “Donny” E. English, Jr. has been elevated to office managing principal in Baltimore. Donny succeeds esteemed employment attorney Brooks R. Amiot, who is retiring after 30 years of practice.

“Donny is well respected and has the reputation for being both an outstanding person and lawyer, said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “He was a natural choice to step up to this position, and I am confident he will continue to build on the office’s strong foundation.”

In addition to Donny’s role as Baltimore office managing principal, he also serves as co-leader of the firm’s recently launched Trials and Appeals group. Donny is an experienced trial attorney and has successfully tried numerous jury and bench trials to verdict in federal and state courts. He has more than 20 years of experience litigating employment matters and assisting major corporations with internal investigations and in the development and establishment of employment policies, procedures, and training programs.

Donny advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters, including those involving discrimination and harassment, wage and hour, wrongful termination, restrictive covenants and retaliation claims. He also advises and trains managers and supervisors on preventive litigation practices, focusing on how to comply with applicable laws and regulations, avoid workplace disputes, resolve employee relation problems and satisfy legitimate employee expectations.

“As someone who has served in several leadership positions during my tenure at the firm, I am excited to take on this new role as Baltimore office managing principal,” said Donny. “The Baltimore office has a strong national presence in employment litigation, labor and employee benefits. I look forward to working with the exceptional lawyers in the Baltimore office to deepen and strengthen that national presence.”

Prior to his career as an attorney, Donny served as an officer in the Air Force. He is currently the co-leader of Jackson Lewis’ Veterans Attorney resource group. Donny earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and his B.S. from the United States Air Force Academy.
