Tutu School Will Open First Georgia Location at Halcyon

Creative, educational ballet studio slated to open at the Alpharetta mixed-use destination this summer

Ballet slippers, tutus and twirling are coming to Halcyon. RocaPoint Partners today announces Tutu School, a boutique-style ballet studio catering specifically to children 18 months to 8 years old, will open its first location in Georgia at the Alpharetta mixed-use destination this summer.

“Halcyon has come to be the ultimate family-centric destination, from weekly Kids Clubs and holiday events to birthday parties and kid-friendly dinner spots,” said Phil Mays, principal at RocaPoint Partners and developer of Halcyon. “And now we have a ballet studio dedicated to enriching children’s lives through creative expression and art education. I can’t think of a better spot for Tutu School to make its debut in Georgia and am excited to see another community gathering spot at Halcyon.”

Founded in 2008, Tutu School was designed to introduce ballet to children at a young age through both the body and the mind. What started as a quaint studio in San Francisco has now grown to over 60 locations across the country, all boasting exceptional teachers and carefully curated curriculums. Ashley Vetek, owner of the Halcyon location, grew up with a passion for dance, starting ballet at a young age.

“I recently moved less than five minutes from Halcyon and since the first time I visited, I knew this would be the perfect place for Georgia’s first Tutu School,” said Vetek. “This location will be one of our more unique studios with its amazing community and accessibility to a variety of restaurants, retailers and events. Dance was my first true love, and I can’t wait to watch the joy it brings to the young kids at Halcyon.”

Located on Halcyon Way between Unique Cuts and Clean Your Dirty Face, Tutu School will offer a variety of classes for different age ranges, including Tutu Toddlers for 18 months to 3 years old, Exploring Ballet for 3 to 5 years old and Primary Ballet Prep for 5 to 8 years old. During the 45-minute classes, children will experience thoughtful curriculums that explore the joys of dance, storytime and arts education. The studio will have a whimsical design and small class sizes to allow students to really connect with each other and their instructor. Parents are always welcome to stay and watch while their child is in class.

Tutu School will also offer opportunities for birthday parties, camps and “Private Pirouette Pods,” a private class option. Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 3 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enrollment will begin closer to the opening date. The announcement of Tutu School builds on the exciting lineup of new concepts at the mixed-use destination. Halcyon recently celebrated the openings of acai and pitaya bowl concept Playa Bowls, cutting-edge fitness center The Forum Athletic Club and the reopening of the Big Creek Greenway’s Halcyon Trailhead. Later this year, guests will be able to experience Italian-style market Il Bottegone and popular Spanish tapas restaurant Eclipse Di Luna.
