DLA Piper Expands its Finance Practice with the Arrival of Daniel Cole in Chicago

DLA Piper is expanding its Finance practice with the arrival of Daniel Cole as partner in the firm’s Chicago office. Cole will be a member of the practice’s Investment Management subgroup.

With more than 18 years of experience, Cole focuses his practice on corporate, joint ventures, real estate transactions and tax credit financing. His corporate and joint venture experience encompasses representing venture capital funds and entrepreneurs in structuring early-stage investments in emerging growth companies; structuring private placement offerings, convertible debt financing and equity investments; and asset and stock transactions.

Cole also advises on all aspects of commercial real estate and development, including property acquisitions and dispositions, restructuring and complex tax planning; and the leasing and negotiation of construction contracts, architect’s agreements and design-build agreements. Additionally, Cole represents investors, developers, syndicators and lenders on matters relating to tax credit financing transactions, including New Market Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credits.

Cole arrives from Ginsberg Jacobs LLC. He earned a JD and a BS from the University of Illinois.
