NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–SK Capital Partners, a private investment firm focused on the specialty materials, specialty chemicals and pharmaceuticals sectors, today announced the hiring of Michael Gilbert as Managing Director, Head of Portfolio Operations. In this newly established leadership position, Mr. Gilbert will be responsible for coordinating a team of operating executives and functional experts to accelerate value creation, drive process improvement initiatives and maximize the financial performance of SK’s portfolio of companies.

Prior to joining SK Capital, Mr. Gilbert was the CEO of Aristech Surfaces, a leading producer of surface products and design materials, where he led a significant transformation of the company culminating in a successful sale to Trinseo in September 2021. Prior to Aristech Surfaces, he served as the Vice President and General Manager at SABIC, a global leader in diversified chemicals. Prior to SABIC, he was the Senior Vice President at Nexeo Solutions, a global chemical and plastics distributor.
