Kayode Onaolapo Joins Maryland Public Television as Senior Director of Information Technology

Maryland Public Television (MPT) has announced the addition of Kayode Onaolapo to its Technology Division as the statewide public TV network’s senior director, Information Technology (I.T.).

In this position, Onaolapo is responsible for managing MPT’s I.T. systems administration team and conducting a broad range of I.T. services and operations. His primary duties include maintaining and enhancing computer security, leading digital transformation strategies, and supporting I.T. systems for MPT’s six broadcast stations across the state. Onaolapo also coordinates and supervises members of the department to ensure operational efficiency.

Prior to joining MPT, Onaolapo served as the director of I.T. for the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission. He earlier held a number of programming and I.T. roles over seven years spent at the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. Still earlier, he was a lead software developer for Novasys Limited, based in Nigeria.

Onaolapo earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Nigeria and a master’s degree in Computer Science from Bowie State University.  He holds professional certifications from Microsoft and Oracle and was a 2019 graduate of the Maryland Department of Health Leadership Development Program.

Onaolapo is a resident of Owings Mills.
