hygge Coworking To Launch Lokal, A New Retail Collective At Camp North End This Holiday Season

ATCO Properties & Management, the developer of Camp North End, announced today that hygge coworking will kick off the holiday shopping season with Lokal, a new retail collective opening on Small Business Saturday (November 27th).

Lokal, which was developed by hygge founder Garrett Tichy and director of marketing Alyssa Pressler, provides a platform for up-and-coming local makers, artisans, and craftspersons to sell their goods and take their brands to the next level. The shop will be located at 330 Camp Road, and will feature a variety of local Charlotte brands selling apparel, accessories, and hand-crafted goods.

According to Tichy, Lokal aims to showcase products by the large demographic of startups and burgeoning retailers that have outgrown their homes, but which are not yet ready for a standalone brick-and-mortar store of their own. Lokal is aiming to have 25 vendors before the end of November, with more to be announced. The initial vendor list includes That’s Novel Books, Scarf & Blazer, Bigfoot Kick, Feminist Goods Co, Limoncito Goods, Mossick & Co, Party Perfected, Analogue Luxury, Quad Espresso Jewelry and LUSH Boutique. In addition, Camp North End will sell their official merchandise at Lokal.

Tichy notes that in addition to providing a learning experience for local businesses to collaborate with hygge members and network with business owners in the community, vendors will only pay hygge a percentage of sales.

“Now more than ever, it is extremely important to support local brands, especially after people turned more and more to shopping online during the height of the pandemic,” Tichy said. “On behalf of all of us at hygge, I’m excited to welcome people back to a real life, in-person shopping experience that helps nurture and support the next generation of great retailers here in Charlotte, whose need for a small amount of physical space is a huge opportunity not currently met in Charlotte real estate offerings.”

Tommy Mann, Development Director at Camp North End, added: “Lokal represents an exciting and dynamic addition to hygge and Camp North End. As more people shop locally and visit Camp North End during the holidays, this retail collective will be a great addition to our existing mix of businesses and experiences.”

Lokal will benefit from being just steps from Immersive Van Gogh, award-winning restaurant Leah & Louise, taproom Free Range Bar, charcuterie shop Babe & Butcher, frozen treat shop Popbar, and plant store Grow: A Plant Shop.

Lokal’s hours are Wednesday and Thursday 12pm to 7pm; Friday 12pm to 8pm; Saturday 11am to 7pm; and Sunday 11am to 5pm. If vendors are interested in being at Lokal, please visit the site https://lokalorelse.com
