Derek Automotive Debuts First Showroom at Atlantic Station

Minority-owned electric vehicle company opens “Experience Center” at the premier in-town destination

Revolutionary minority-owned electric car company, Derek Automotive Technologies, Inc., debuts its first Experience Center showroom at Atlantic Station, Atlanta’s premier mixed-use destination. Located within a 3,000-square-foot space at 232 19th St. NW, Suite 7130, the showroom is the first brick-and-mortar location for the automotive company, allowing customers touch the brand and to fully customize available models first-hand.

“Derek Automotive is a cutting-edge brand breaking into the electric vehicle industry, and we are honored to be a part of its story,” said Starr Cumming, director of specialty leasing at Atlantic Station. “Atlantic Station is quickly becoming a central hub for technology and innovation, with the world’s top tech firms right at our doorstep. We will continue to focus on attracting diverse and environmentally-conscious concepts to add to our tenant mix as we look toward a more sustainable future.”

Founded by Derek Bailey, the automotive company designs electric vehicles accessible to all consumers at an attainable price point. The Atlantic Station location showcases the Derek Automotive aesthetic and creates a warm and welcoming environment for guests. At the showroom, guests are able to purchase and customize various products, including the Avani Pure SUV, the company’s fully electric model, plus electric scooters and bikes, as well as a line of lifestyle products. The products purchased at the showroom will be delivered directly to customers next May, if ordered by December. The company is currently developing a new gas-to-electric hybrid model titled ‘Proteus’, which will be available for purchase in late 2022.

“During our search for the perfect home to launch our new experience center concept, we were most attracted to Atlantic Station’s location within the center of Atlanta and its accessibility to a diverse customer base,” said Derek Bailey. “It is important for our first showroom to reflect the essence of Derek Automotive as we are the first minority-owned electric vehicle company in the industry, and Atlantic Station upholds similar core values with its inclusive and supportive atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming guests to our showroom at Atlantic Station and introducing the world to Proteus!”

Derek Automotive is also currently in discussions with the state to identify land for warehouse facilities and ports for assembly and distribution of the vehicles. The deal could create thousands of jobs for Georgians, and put the state on the fast track towards lowering its carbon emissions from the transportation sector.
