Continuum Legal Group Launches With Experienced Lawyers Offering Full Suite Of Businesses Services, Headquartered In Atlanta

Continuum Legal Group LLP is launching in Atlanta with 12 experienced attorneys offering a full suite of services for businesses and individuals.

Continuum’s clients will get the personal touch of a boutique firm with the full-service expertise of top attorneys in six primary practice areas: employment, commercial litigation, corporate, real estate, lending and environmental law. The firm is comprised of attorneys who’ve been collaborating for years. Its unique footprint in the legal space in Atlanta includes representing a wide range of clients from individuals to Fortune 100 companies.

Ilene W. Berman is an employment attorney with over 25 years of experience in advising and defending employers in all facets of employment law, including discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Berman serves as a trusted advisor and lead counsel to Fortune 100 companies, large and mid-size employers and start-up businesses. She also represents senior executives in negotiating and drafting executive-compensation agreements and separation packages. Berman is a sought-after presenter to the film and television industry where she trains on workplace respect, professionalism and harassment prevention. In addition, she conducts internal investigations for companies responding to claims of discrimination and harassment. Berman received a J.D. with distinction from Emory University School of Law and a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. She is admitted to practice law in Georgia, New York and Connecticut.

Scott G. Blews practices labor and employment law, advising clients from litigation to trial. As a former in-house counsel, Blews helps clients balance the legal and business landscape. He has the trial experience to take a case to a jury verdict, as well as the judgment and foresight to help clients evaluate when it may make sense to resolve a claim. He’s represented employers successfully in a wide variety of employment, labor and other litigation matters in state and federal courts and administrative agencies throughout the country. Donald P. Boyle Jr. has successfully litigated complex commercial business, environmental and tort matters through trial and appeal in state and federal courts in Georgia and the eastern United States for 30 years. His work for major manufacturers, large corporations and state agencies includes general commercial litigation, contract disputes, insurance coverage, environmental (CERCLA), construction disputes, product liability, toxic torts, debtor-creditor, government contracts, tax, Georgia Tort Claims Act and eminent domain. Boyle counsels his clients to consider alternative dispute resolution, which through careful planning can result in a true win for the client at a reduced cost over resorting to the courts.

Wade A. Buser has been practicing commercial real estate law, including lending and corporate finance, for more than 35 years. Buser’s extensive experience spans all facets of commercial real estate including retail, office, industrial and multifamily acquisitions, sales, contract and leasing negotiation, foreclosures, loan restructures, workouts, REOs, secured and unsecured lending transactions, asset-based lending, bond financing and condominium developments. Buser has represented purchasers, sellers and developers of real estate, federal and state banks, credit unions, the FDIC, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, commercial brokers, retail and office leasing companies and various other entities in purchasing, selling, developing, lending, leasing and managing real estate.

Marc D. Glenn represents clients in all areas of real estate, lending and corporate finance, including in the acquisition, financing, development, leasing, subleasing, workout and foreclosure of commercial, office, retail, industrial and multifamily real estate. As part of his practice, Glenn also advises clients in bond financing transactions, the corporate structuring of entities (including non-profits and supporting organizations) and all aspects of real estate held or utilized for educational purposes. John M. Gross has served as lead counsel in federal and state trial and appellate courts, in administrative proceedings and before alternative dispute resolution panels. His clients have included Fortune 100 companies, financial institutions, manufacturers, national and small-town community banks, corporate directors and officers, wealthy individuals and small-business owners. Gross has provided compliance advice and counseling in securities, antitrust and fiduciary duty matters. He’s represented defendants and plaintiffs in financial fraud claims, contract disputes, business dissolutions, fiduciary duty litigation, shareholders’ class-action litigation, corporate governance disputes, antitrust class actions and internal corporate investigations.

Gary D. Knopf routinely advises national and local developers, office building owners, retailers and restaurant companies and other landlords and tenants in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, predevelopment activities, due diligence, financing, dispositions and leasing. Knopf’s experience includes all types of real estate asset classes, including office, industrial and retail. Knopf’s clients include a national quick-service restaurant company in the acquisition and ground leasing of sites throughout the United States, a Fortune 500 company in connection with the acquisitions, dispositions and development of property in connection with its retail stores, and private equity real estate investment firms in the acquisition and leasing of industrial and office building assets.

Leah J. Knowlton has more than 30 years of experience in a broad range of environmental regulatory, litigation and transactional matters. She has particular expertise in remediation of Superfund (CERCLA) sites and brownfield properties and in conducting environmental due diligence and negotiating contracts in corporate, real estate and lending transactions. Knowlton has successfully litigated complex federal Superfund litigation and other litigation involving chemical releases and has defended clients in environmental criminal prosecutions. She has served as lead crisis response counsel to major manufacturing companies in workplace toxic exposure incidents and fatal industrial accidents. She advises clients on a wide range of EHS compliance subjects, including PSM/RMP safety matters and CFATS chemical manufacturing security matters.

William G. “Bill” Leonard has more than four decades of experience in litigation involving securities and investments, liability of directors, officers, managers and partners of businesses, shareholder and member rights and fiduciary duties, accountant and auditor liability, law firm liability and banking law. His experience includes class actions, lawsuits in federal and state courts in many different states and arbitrations. Leonard also is a trained mediator and has served as an arbitrator for securities disputes. His experience includes conducting internal investigations into potential wrongdoing by officers, directors and employees of corporations, representing officers, directors, accountants, brokers and other professionals in investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and major stock exchanges and FINRA arbitrations concerning stocks, bonds and options.

Brian T. Nash has served as general outside counsel to leaders of growth-oriented technology companies for more than three decades. He’s helped his clients generate hundreds of millions of dollars in shareholder value. His hands-on experience as a software developer and systems analyst provides useful insight in negotiating technology-related transactions, including liquidity events, private placements and venture capital and private equity transactions, as well as software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreements and other technology transfer, licensing and distribution, e-commerce and complex technology purchasing agreements.

John J. Richard is a member of the litigation team concentrating on resolution of creditor/debtor disputes, corporate and entity governance issues and financial and real estate disputes. Richard represents clients in loan and special asset workouts, lender participation disputes, lender liability claims, mortgage and financial fraud matters and complex post-judgment collection matters, all to maximize the recovery of outstanding loans. He has extensive experience working with troubled loans and guiding banks and other lending institutions through loan administration, workout, special asset litigation and foreclosure processes. Richard counsels large national banks, community banks in Georgia and beyond, as well as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation on loan restructuring, workouts, receiverships and troubled asset management.

Sean R. Smith is a member of the Continuum Litigation Department. For more than 30 years, Smith has represented companies and individuals in many different areas of litigation and alternative dispute resolution, including business contract and tort matters, banking law, antitrust actions, shareholder and securities litigation, environmental litigation and libel and related First Amendment issues. He’s tried multiple actions in state and federal courts in Georgia and surrounding states, including a representation of Time Inc., which was noted as one of the 15 significant defense verdicts in the country in 1996. Smith has represented clients in appeals in state and federal courts and advised clients on methods of avoiding litigation and making litigation more effective and efficient when it is necessary.
