Doug Williford Named Brown Harris Stevens Chief Strategy Officer

Williford tasked with corporate vision, planning, and expansion strategy in BHS regions outside of NYC

Brown Harris Stevens (BHS), the premier privately owned real estate services company, announces that Doug Williford has joined the firm as the new Chief Strategy Officer. In this new role, Williford will oversee and implement corporate strategy across Brown Harris Stevens regions outside of New York City, and assist future expansion efforts.

“As we explore opportunities in new markets, Doug is the perfect candidate to streamline our corporate mission in our expanded regions. I am thrilled to welcome him to Brown Harris Stevens and look forward to a successful future together,” said Bess Freedman, CEO.

Williford joins Brown Harris Stevens from Douglas Elliman where he managed the successful Tribeca office. Prior to that, he was a top-producing agent for many years at one of NYC’s premier boutique brokerages before moving into a sales management role there.

“Brown Harris Stevens is a true heritage brand with an incredible growth opportunity. I have long admired their integrity and dedicated focus on agent and client services,  and I am excited to join Bess and the other members of the executive team,” said Williford.

Brown Harris Stevens is in the midst of a record breaking year. The Hamptons, Palm Beach, and Connecticut operations shattered their 2020 sales volumes within the first six months of 2021 while the NYC brokerage experienced its highest monthly sales volume in its nearly 150 year history this past August.

Brown Harris Stevens is the largest privately held real estate firm on the East Coast with 2,500 agents and 50+ offices across New York City, the Hamptons, Hudson Valley, Connecticut, South Florida, and New Jersey.  Real Trends recently ranked Brown Harris Stevens as having the highest average sales price per agent among large brokerages in the country.
